The National Accreditation Program for Rectal Cancer (NAPRC) has released its new accreditation standards, Optimal Resources for Rectal Cancer Care (2026 Standards). The new standards have been revised to incorporate emerging trends in the treatment of patients with rectal cancer, including non-operative management and local excision procedures, while providing comprehensive, multidisciplinary care.
The 2026 NAPRC Standards are effective beginning January 1, 2026, for all NAPRC-accredited programs. The following resources are available to help support the 2026 NAPRC Standards:

The FAQ has been significantly updated with helpful information for NAPRC programs and addresses common questions about the NAPRC accreditation process, the implementation timeline for the 2026 Standards, and the accreditation standards requirements. NAPRC Webinar Series
Five webinars are scheduled by the NAPRC to introduce the 2026 Standards. The webinars address the requirements for meeting compliance with Optimal Resources for Rectal Cancer Care (2026 Standards), tools and resources available for the 2026 Standards, the site visits process, and quality improvement for rectal cancer care.
